Commercial Paint Stripper
- Commercial paint strippers are chemical solutions formulated to remove old paint, powder coatings, varnishes, and lacquers from metal, wood, concrete, or other substrates. They are widely used in automotive, industrial maintenance, furniture restoration, and fabrication shops.
a) Solvent-Based Strippers
Contain strong organic solvents (e.g. methylene chloride, toluene, NMP, benzyl alcohol).
Work by penetrating paint layers and breaking the bond with the substrate.
Advantages: Fast-acting, can remove multiple paint layers.
Disadvantages: Often toxic, require good ventilation, some banned/restricted in certain countries.
b) Caustic (Alkaline) Strippers
Contain sodium hydroxide (caustic soda).
Work by breaking down the oils and resins in the paint.
Advantages: Effective on oil-based paints, cheaper.
Disadvantages: Can damage wood fibers, etch metals, hazardous to skin. #Paint Stripper Manufacturer.
