What is blackening and how does it work?
Blackening is usually done in a batch operation. Generally, it is less expensive than other finishing options such as painting and plating. Blackening uses a chemical compound that clings to the surface of machined metal (in all the nooks and crannies). It creates a porous base that bonds chemically with the work piece surface.
