Blackening Chemicals Application
- Application of Blackening Chemicals for Metal
Blackening chemicals are used to apply a black oxide or similar dark coating to metals like steel, iron, aluminum, copper, and brass. The process enhances corrosion resistance, reduces glare, and improves aesthetic appeal.
* Blackening Process
- Different methods depend on the type of blackening chemical:
A. Hot Black Oxide (290–310°F / 143–154°C)
- Immerse metal in a heated alkaline solution containing sodium hydroxide and nitrates.
- Reaction forms a black Fe₃O₄ (magnetite) layer.
- Rinse and proceed to sealing.
b. Cold Blackening (Room Temperature)
- Dip metal in a cold blackening solution containing copper selenide or other chemicals.
- A chemical conversion forms a dark layer without heat.
- Less durable but suitable for quick applications.# Blackening Chemicals Manufacturer.
