VC FERROUS HT Hot Blackening
- Hot Blackening is a process used to create a black oxide coating on metal surfaces, primarily steel, stainless steel, and iron. It enhances corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and aesthetics while reducing light reflection.
* How Hot Blackening Works
1. Cleaning & Degreasing – The metal is cleaned with an alkaline cleaner or solvent to remove oil, grease, and contaminants.
2. Pickling (Acid Treatment) – An acid solution (often hydrochloric or sulfuric acid) removes oxides and rust.
3. Hot Black Oxide Bath – The metal is immersed in a heated solution (285–300°F) containing sodium hydroxide, nitrites, and nitrates. This reaction forms magnetite (Fe₃O₄), a black oxide layer.
4. Rinsing – The part is rinsed to remove excess chemicals.
5. Sealing (Oil or Wax Coating) – The black oxide layer is sealed with oil, wax, or polymer coatings to enhance corrosion resistance. # VC FERROUS HT Hot Blackening Manufacturer.
